
ZOOM: Block 1 Wed 5.30pm Barre+Core
Barre class with a core focused Pilates Flow session
Class Description
6-week block of Barre+Core over January and February. Suitable for people with prior Pilates experience, but no previous ballet experience is needed. Feel graceful while exercising! The first half of the class consists of ballet inspired toning exercises for the lower and upper body done mid-floor and at the ballet barre (in the hall we use chairs), while also working your core using the principles of Pilates core engagement and postural alignment. The second half of the class is core-focused Pilates exercises on the mat, performed like a dance to the flow of the music at a faster pace compared to your normal mat Pilates class. One could call this way of performing Pilates exercises as Pilates Flow. Think of it as in your normal Pilates class you take your time to fully learn the Pilates repertoire, in Barre+Core you get to play with those skills and "dance" through the exercises. Therefore previous Pilates experience is essential. We use props such as resistance bands and loops, Pilates circles and balls in the class. You need to be at least at improver level in Pilates so that you understand the basics of core engagement, breathing and alignment. Please bring your own mat, all other props are provided. Dates: Wednesdays 3rd 5.30-6.25pm from 7th January to 11th February. Venue: 5th Fife Scout Group, 10 Dunnikier Road, Kirkcaldy, KY1 2RU steamed via Zoom. Cancellation policy: If you cancel your course with a minimum of 7 days notice, you get a full refund. If less than 7 days, no refunds are given unless your space can be allocated to someone else. If not, you will get 6 weeks access to the Video Library on the website. No refunds are given for missed classes, nor can be missed classes transferred onto a future block. You can request to come make up a missed class on another day or request 7 days On-Demand Video access.
Cancellation Policy
IN-STUDIO and via ZOOM: If you cancel your block or a one-off trial class with a minimum 48h notice by email or text, you get a full refund. If less than 48h, no refunds are given unless your space can be allocated to someone else on the waitlist. If not, you will get access to the Video Library on the website for the same duration as the block would have been. Missing classes: For each missed class you can request to either 1) get 7 days On-Demand Video Library access on the website 2) take a class on another day, subject to availability (please arrange in advance with Anna) Please note, make up classes are only valid during the same or the following block. For example if you missed a class in Block 5, you can make up that class during block 5 or 6. After that time they expire. Refunds are not given for missed classes. Please note 3-week Pilates trials have shorter make up periods, specified at the time of booking. If you miss individual classes over the block, please let me know. The make up class system relies on everyone letting me know when they make it. This will release a space for someone else to come make up.
